From John Liner founder of Linbro later part of Flow Labs and then ICN.

" I believe the first Micro system was developed by r. Takatsy from Hungary He
used Lucite to machine 6 rows of 12 wells 5.5mm diameter......

John goes on to say I consider myself the grandfather to disposable
microplate, about 1953 I used a white styrene vacuum formed panel....."

A paper published by WHO in 1956 confirms the use of the Linbro plate refering
it as " 96 well styrene panel" made from Dow Chemical Styrene."

Patrick Cleveland late of UCLA at San Diego devel;oped and patented the first
microplate which incorporated filter discs at the bottom some time in 1981/82.

Would welcome your comments.
