Macintosh Utilites Feb. 1989 ("README.DOC" added 2/9/89 by Spencer Yeh for BIONET distribution) INTRODUCTION This directory contains a number of public-domain utility macintosh programs. All of the ".hqx" files have been compressed with StuffIt 1.5.1 and then converted to hex format using BinHex 4.0. SYSTEMS SUPPORTED Mac Plus, SE, and Macintosh II. PROGRAM FILES This diskette contains the following files: README.DOC This documentation file Macify.hqx Helps convert ASCII text files to Macintosh text format. MacIP.hqx A program from Stanford which allows a networked Macintosh to become an Internet node for TELNET and FTP MicroEmac.hqx A version of the EMACS editor for Macintoshes. Setfile.hqx Allows Macintosh file characteristics to be modified StuffIt Tools.hqx A number of accessory programs for use with the StuffIt 1.5.1 system. Primarily of use to frequent StuffIt users. DEARCHIVING ".HQX" FILES All ".hqx" files must first be decoded using a BinHex 4.0 algorithm and then uncompressed using a StuffIt 1.5.1 algorithm. The "dearchive" directory or the MacKermit/Dearchive diskette from BIONET contain the needed programs to do this.
