netgrail.plx 0.03 Alpha ----------------------------- THIS IS ALPHA SOFTWARE!!!! IT IS NOT COMPLETE!!!! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! Instructions on installation are in the INSTALL file. netgrail.plx is a simple client used to create valid requests to the GRAIL server. This is not a full featured client because there netgrail.plx provides no way to pass parameters to options which require such. Also if you see "Error: Not a registered service" then your query was invalid. Only certain combinations of features, organisms, options are allowed by the netgrail server. To see a list of valid combinations see http://compbio.ornl.gov/Grail-1.3/help/ If you are doing simple human queries you should only need to run netgrail.plx sequence.FASTA and you will not be concerned about these options. This has been tested on a variety of unix flavors as well as Windows. DOCUMENTATION POD style documentation is included in netgrail.plx. You should be able to use the 'perldoc' utility to extract documentation from the program directly. CHANGES 1. netgrail.plx no longer requires Net::Telnet. Instead, it uses the IO::Socket modules which come with Perl. 2. the default feature was changed from grail1exons to grail2exons.
