The EMUTEK program provides terminal emulation, supporting Tektronix graphics on a PC (See Chapter 1-3). Emutek also supports file transfer, in combination with a VAX-based kermit.
On the PC run Emutek by entering
C>emu-tek
You should get a banner message. Press return until you get a response. Depending on how your PC is connected to the VAX, you will either get a PAD prompt, or a login prompt. Logon in the usual way
Move to the directory you wish to store the PC files in. eg:
$ sd .gelsin
Next you must start up KERMIT on the VAX:
$ Kermit
Kermit-32> server
Bring up the UPLOAD menu from emutek by pressing Alt-U.
We want the item upload Kermit checksum, so press the K key.
The next window asks you to enter two items:
Source File name: c:\digiseq\mu18.seq
Destination File name:
mu18.seq (defaults cause problems!)
When complete you will see [TRANSFER COMPLETED - PRESS A KEY].
If you get a TRANSFER HALTED message - check that your file names have been entered correctly.
Repeat entering K and file names until all files have been transferred.

Enter F to Finish host server mode, return, then esc,return.
Kermit-32>exit
Look at the directory to see the transferred files.
To send files in the other direction: ALT-C for the emu-tek CAPTURE menu. Enter G for Get from Kermit server.
To EXIT Emutek: log off the VAX, enter Alt-X, then select Y.
