Most of it will be distributed in a form that is first compressed and then converted from binary to a printable ASCII text file. The File Server delivers files by electronic mail, and thus cannot send executable files. Directories ----------- To get further information use the File Server commands: HELP DOS_SOFTWARE (details of MS DOS software) HELP MAC_SOFTWARE (details of Apple Macintosh software) HELP VAX_SOFTWARE (details of VAX/VMS software) HELP UNIX_SOFTWARE (details of UNIX software) Some general software information can be found in the SOFTWARE directory: To receive any of these files use the command: GET SOFTWARE:filename.ext GBCLEAR.CAT - The GenBank Software Clearinghouse A listing of programs and packages available for molecular biology PHYLOGENY.DOC - Listing and review of phylogeny programs, by Joe Felsenstein (6-Jun-1990) Software submissions -------------------- We would appreciate any submissions of software in this field. For further information fetch a copy of the software submission form: GET DOC:SUBMISSION.SW Distribution policy ------------------- The EMBL File Server is accessable without any restrictions to anyone with a network connection to the EMBL computer. Therefore it is up to the submitting author to include any copyright statements, shareware demands and limitations of usage and redistribution in the accompanying documentation file.
