The Dynamic Spine Demonstration Version copyright 1994 MMS ---------------------------------------------------------- YOU MUST UNCOMPRESS SPINE_1.ZIP, SPINE_2.ZIP AND SPINE_3.ZIP ON TO SEPARATE FLOPPY DISKS (i.e.DISK1,DISK2,DISK3) BEFORE YOU CAN INSTALL THE DEMO. USE PKZIP VERSION 2.04G OR LATER TO UNZIP THE FILES. EARLIER VERSIONS OF PKZIP WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY. This demonstration requires Microsoft Windows 3.1, Microsoft Video For Windows (provided on disk 1) and a super VGA card capable of displaying 640x480 in 256 colors. The Dynamic Spine is an interactive laserdisk-based tutorial on the axial skeleton covering anatomy, pathology, biomechanics and manual medicine techniques used in treating the spine. Three-dimensional animations give students an appreciation of the dynamic nature of the human spine. In this demonstration you will be viewing a simulation of a typical workstation setup. Please note: The computer screen images, laserdisk images, animations and video clips that you will be viewing were taken directly from The Dynamic Spine program and scaled down to 25% of their original size for demonstration purposes. It is not intended that you should be able to read the text in the screen images. They are provided to give you a "feel" for the way the program works. The text window at the bottom right of your screen will fully describe the functions in each of the screens. Be assured that you will not experience the "graininess" or color palette shifts that you may see in the animations and video clips when actually viewed on the laserdisk monitor. Likewise, the computer screen images will be completely legible and of very high quality. INSTALLATION ------------ If you already have Microsoft Video for Windows installed on your computer, skip to step 2 (if you are not sure, start with step 1). STEP 1: You must first install the Microsoft Video for Windows runtime program before installing The Dynamic Spine Demonstration program. To install the Video For Windows runtime program, start Windows and run the setup.exe program located on disk 1. STEP 2: To install the The Dynamic Spine Demonstration program, start Windows and run the install.exe program located on disk 1. Follow the on-screen instructions. TROUBLESHOOTING --------------- If the quality of the pictures in the program is poor, (i.e. the radiographs don't look like actual radiographs) you are probably not running Windows in 256-color mode. A VGA adapter capable of displaying at a minimum 640x480 resolution in 256 colors is required to run The Dynamic Spine. Please check your video adapter manual or call your video adapter manufacturer for video drivers and instructions on how to install them. The Dynamic Spine is available through Medical Multimedia Systems. Please call 800-769-7799 for a brochure and ordering information or 718-444-7763 for technical support.
