FIRSTORD (in first??.zip) is a program which attempts to find 
a "good" order for markers based on the two-point lod scores 
between them.

       We are just starting the experiment of keeping the most up-to-
       date programs on a local anonymous ftp site, kindly supported 
       by John Attwood. This is diamond.gene.ucl.ac.uk (128.40.82.1), 
       and my programs will be kept in /pub/packages/dcurtis. If you 
       have a problem with any of them, then try looking here first 
       to see if a new version has come out which fixes your problem. 

       If all else fails the packages can be obtained by post from me 
       on receipt of an appropriate number of 5.25 or 3 inch floppy 
       disks. Please make sure you format them first!
