These are unix archives (tar.gz) of executable bioinformatics
applications compiled for given unix systems:
 -sparc-sun-solaris2.8 = Sun Solaris (sparc processor)
 -powerpc-apple-darwin5.1 = Apple Mac OS X (powerpc processor)
 -i686-pc-linux-gnu = Linux / GNU (intel processor)

They are compiled for installation in a path /bio/mb/ {package}
but should work when installed elsewere, as they have been built
with static linking.  

This collection is made available for testing bioinformatics applications
in a data/compute grid infrastructure.  At this time, no claim is
made these will be maintained or updated.   The source
directory for these binaries is
